I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology & Sociology from The College of Idaho in 2003 and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Boise State University in 2008. During my graduate coursework at Boise State University I completed a one-year internship at Saint Alphonsus Behavioral Health, an inpatient psychiatric hospital for children and adults in Boise, Idaho. I later served as the Lead Counselor at the facility for nearly 5 years.
I am endorsed as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC-4699), the highest level of independent counseling licensure in Idaho; I have held this credential since 2011. Additionally, I am both a National Certified Counselor and Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (NCC/CCMHC-275357) through the National Board of Certified Counselors.
I maintain a private practice in Boise, Idaho working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have specialized experience working in inpatient and outpatient settings where a variety of issues are addressed. In addition to my practice, I serve as an Adjunct Professor for the Counselor Education Department at Boise State University and work as a Psychiatric Clinician in the Emergency Department at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.
I have solid and grounded experience helping those with chronic mental health issues as well as those struggling with situational anxiety and/or depression. Given my extensive experience at both Saint Alphonsus Behavioral Health and in the Emergency Department, I have a very good understanding of when a client may need a higher level of care. I can assist my clients with steps to seek inpatient care and provide support for any emotional complications that may arise.
I am an active member of both the American Counseling Association and the Idaho Mental Health Counselor’s Association.
My foundational approach to counseling is an evidenced-based practice called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Within this my aim is to work collaboratively with you to identify core values through the evaluation of automatic thoughts and beliefs and address how they may be contributing and/or interfering in your daily life. My belief is that as automatic thoughts are addressed they can be reorganized, allowing for positive changes in behavior and in the way we feel.
I value the therapeutic relationship and provide genuine warmth, empathy and nonjudgmental acceptance. I will seek to understand your point of view while encouraging and challenging you to reach your goals. I am dedicated to walking alongside you during your process of growth.

I operate what is commonly referred to as a ‘cash only’ practice. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan; however, I do not work or subscribe with any insurance carrier. For therapy provided, clients pay me directly and have the responsibility to obtain reimbursement, where available, from their insurance company. I recommend calling your insurance provider to find out what benefits you have. They will inform you the reimbursement rate for therapy provided outside of your preferred network. I am credentialed as an EAP Provider through ComPsych.
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not provided at least 24 hours advance notice, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session. All appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours advance notice are subject to a missed appointment fee of $25.00.
